Kindle this and Kindle that.
The Kindle from Amazon has been the rage for a
while now but is it just a toy or is it really useful???
….i’ll try and point you inther right deirection.
The latest Kindle uses soem techincal jargon called “E Ink Pearl technology”
This is a screen technology with a greater contrast and
really in laymans terms it means you get a crisp clear
resolution on text and images and add to this that this
version of the Kindle features a 9.7″ (That is like a small
notebook computer)diagonal E Ink screen means it’s ideal for
reading books, magazines, PDF’s and even your favourite
newspaper subscription……great if you are travelling.
The screen also has a special anti glare component which
looks like a matt paint on your living room wall, this means
it gives you the appearance of reading something from a piece
of paper but with a thousand of times the icrease in quality
is ideal for a broad range of reading material including
graphic-rich books, PDFs, newspapers, magazines, and blogs
I think one of the real benefits of this device is that it
includes “FREE 3G Wireless”
READ THAT AGAIN…….FREE 3G Wireless.
No payments to networks, no contracts just plug and play and
download to your hearts desire.
Now imagine yourself on a beach or out camping and all you have
with you is your beloved Kindle
Well you can be safe in the knowledge that you can read for a
whole week on just a single sesssion of battery charging…..
Now that is an incredible feature…..wish my mobile phone would
do that.
But it gets even better.
Imagine this…..you are reading a book on your kindle at home and
then suddenly the phone goes and you have been told you need to go
on a business trip, you dont have time to charge up your kindle.
No worries….just set up the technology Whispersync when you first
get started and it will automatically synchronise the exact book with
the exact page and the exact point on that page that you were reading.
You just tell it which device/devices you want to keep your stuff on.
It is true set it and forget it technology and you can sync to another
PC or computer, an iPhone, any Android device, and even that pesky
BlackBerry.
But what about this
If I am reading for pleasure or business I can share whatever I am
reading directly into my twitter or facebook pages from Kindle.
Now i do not know why you are reading this, maybe it is just to find
out some info about the Kindle but imagine what this could do for you
from a business standpoint……..let me give you an example.
You run a cooking website. You are sitting on a train reading one of your
favourite cooking books on your kindle and you see recipe you think would
be great for your website visitors. You can paste this onto your facebook
fan page of course giving credit to the original author but you have not
had to write a word.
Your website visitors will love you and it makes it oh so easy to give them
fresh relevant content.
I’ll tell you the possibilities are endless here…….listen to this one.
Sometimes you are reading a book or studying and it can get tiring, I am
sure you’ll agree.
Well let your new Kindle DX take away all the strain with an amazing
technology called “Read to Me” which is a built in text to speech converter
and it can read books, magazines, newspapers even your favourite blogs…..
Am I finished??? NO way
Now i know a lot of people like to read a book..especially a novel in it’s true
paper form but you cannot carry loads of heavy books with you on a trip…….
……not a problem as you can upload up to 3500 books, documents or whetever
you please all in this one magical portable device.
One very neat feature of the Kindle DX is that it has an automatic rotate
feature which means that if you turn it horizontally it will turn the document
you are reading and make it landscape which is absolutely brilliant for
diagrams or certain web pages. I like that feature a lot.
Also did you know that the kindle can obtain nearly 2 million free books for
you from stuff hat is in the public domain.
A lot of material under US copyright and other international copyright can be
used and downloaded absolutely free and you remember that facebook tip i gave
you earlier…….well brilliant for blog content which you can sync over to
your computer at any point.
I hope you enjoyed this and found it useful in deciding if the kindle is for
you. Whether for fun or business this is a great investment.
MORE KINDLE DX INFO!!!
Cheers
